Where's McMurdo?

McMurdo Station is the largest scientific research centre in Antarctica, with a capacity of 1,258 inhabitants. It is operated by the Antarctic Programs Division of the US National Science Foundation and is located at the southern end of McMurdo Bay Ross Island, about 3,500 kilometres south of New Zealand. It is the largest U.S. Antarctic research station and their half-continental logistics base, and all personnel and cargo to and from the Amundsen-Scott Antarctic Station pass through McMurdo first.
